Small areas remain in the States of Kansas, Michi-gan, Mississippi, and Wisconsin, in widely scattered tracts, and no descriptive lists thereof are available. Entry of these lands must be made at the General Land Office, there being no district offices in the States named. No specific descriptions of the character of the land, climate, water, or timber can be given by the General Land Office. Unoccupied public lands, subject to settlement and entry, are to be found in all the States west of the Mississippi River except Iowa and Texas. There is also vacant public ...
