Hand-colored lithograph on sheet, 10 1/6 x 14 1/8 in. The McLellan was built in Bath, Maine, 1825. She made whaling and sealing voyages to the Arctic until her loss near Melville Bay, Davis Strait, off Greenland in 1852. Sidney O. Budington of Groton served as mate on the McLellan early in his career.
