Connecticut women acquired the right to vote for school officials in 1893 and on library issues in 1909. They were granted full suffrage in 1920 through the 19th Amendment, which Connecticut was the 37th state to ratify. There are approximately 180,000 voter registration cards in the Hartford Voter Registration Records Collection, which contains checklists of voters and voter registration cards from the City of Hartford for the 1840-2009 time period.
