Description
Summary:The Dam lab is located at the University of Connecticut’s Avery Point Campus and is headed by Dr. Hans Dam. The lab studies diverse aspects of plankton ecology and evolution, with a focus on marine copepods and dinoflagellates, and their adaptive responses to increases in temperature and acidification. As an undergraduate intern, I worked under the supervision of Ph.D. student Lisa Piastuch. Research with Lisa was supported by a grant focused on the continuation of past research on zooplankton adaptation in response to ocean warming and acidification (Dam et al 2021). This summer we studied the copepod A. tonsa within varying combinations of fluctuating temperature and CO2 conditions.
