Description
Summary:Detection of the glacier extent during the maximum of the Little Ice Age gives deeper insights in the development of glaciers and their regional differentiation due to climate change. In this investigation on Norwegian glaciers in Jotunheimen, the aerial extent of these glaciers was mapped on a regional scale using Landsat 5 TM and aerial photos. A sensitivity analyses and detection of errors was done to evaluate the results. Comparisons with data from exist-ing Norwegian inventories showed the development of the glacier area.
