Summary:America. A better understanding of salmon community structure will clarify the mechanisms of salmon population response to recent environmental changes. Chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) is a dominant pelagic fish in the Bering Sea during summer and fall especially after pink salmon (O. gorbuscha) have moved to coastal areas for spawning. Genetic stock identification (GSI) techniques using allozyme variation have been established for estimating
