Summary:Inr,oduction and establishment of synanthropic salticid species is a dynamic prccess. Changes in distribution are continually taking place. The recent spread of Sitticusfasciger is one example. Range contractions also take place, Salticus scertcus was established in Greenland during Viking times, only to become extirrct presumably during the Litrle Ice Age (Scensen 1898). It would be very interesting!o monitor the population of Ewplvys enatica in northern New Jerscy to follow the dynamics of a newly invasive spocies.
