Description
Summary:Abstract – Two Supercomputer-based parallel visualization systems, RIVA and ParVox, are presented in this paper. RIVA (Remote Interactive Visualization and Analysis) System is a parallel terrain rendering system and ParVox (PARallel VOXel renderer) is a parallel volume rendering system for multiple-variable, time-varying, 3D volume datasets in structured grid and unstructured grid. Both systems are designed for interactive visualization of very large scientific datasets on remote supercomputers. The system architectures and the parallel algorithms are described in this paper. In addition, we will use North Atlantic Ocean Model as a sample application to demonstrate how RIVA and ParVox can help scientists to discover and present their scientific results.
