Description
Summary:This paper employs a managerial perspective describing different types of network organiza-tions amongst subcontractors in the Swedish industrial sector. A case study approach has been adopted in order to gain empirical data from three network organizations in northern Sweden. The empirical evidence from this study reveals that the investigated network organizations have different types of organizational structures, spanning from decentralized to centralized structures. The empirical evidence pinpoints at least two different managerial structures of network organizations: the broker and the coordination unit.
