Summary:monitoring of the staging Lesser White-fronted Goose at the Valdak Marshes, Porsanger Municipality, Finnmark County also in 2005. During spring totally of 44 LWfG were staging, distributed as 19 adult pairs, one subadult pair, three immatures, one single subadult and one single adult. Five LWfG that were caught and colour ringed in earlier years were re-sighted. In autumn a total of 32 individuals staged during a period of three weeks. These were distributed as 4 pairs and 1 single female with 5 clutches of totally 16 goslings, and 7 adult /subadult birds without goslings. Two juveniles disappeared during the autumn staging. This has never been registered at Valdak before. The cause could be either poaching or predation by Gyr Falcon or Golden Eagle.
