Produce a book based on the outcome of the Symposium – commemorating 500 years of Northwest Atlantic livelihoods based on harvesting the Sea. Opening Session: Keynote The NAFO model of international collaborative research, management and cooperation. Keynote The legal framework within which capture fisheries will operate in the future – Develop-ment of UNCLOS 1982, Agenda and FAO code of conduct of responsible fishing. Keynote Sustainability – ecological impact from fisheries – the political environmental issue and how this may affect the future of capture fisheries.
