In Appendix D of the November 1999 SAFE, separate ABC estimates for each species group in the GOA were proposed, both to illustrate how Other species could be restructured to afford better protection to each species group, and so that the SSC may evaluate the extent to which removing sharks and skates would affect allowable catch for the rest of the category.
