Epizootiology of herpesvirus infections in wild ruminants. I. Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis and antigenically related herpesviruses

Infections of wild ruminants by five herpesviruses antigenically related are reviewed: infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus (bovine herpesvirus 1), caprine herpesvirus 2, herpesvirus of Cervidae type 1 and herpesviruses isolated from reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) and water buffalo (Bubalus arnee)....

Description
Summary:Infections of wild ruminants by five herpesviruses antigenically related are reviewed: infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus (bovine herpesvirus 1), caprine herpesvirus 2, herpesvirus of Cervidae type 1 and herpesviruses isolated from reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) and water buffalo (Bubalus arnee). The range of susceptible species is detailed for each herpesvirus and the biological relationships between herpesviruses and their ruminant host species are presented.
