Summary:In Europe, fish aquaculture in a marine environment developed following two successive waves: Atlantic salmon and then sea-bass and sea-bream. Rearing "new marine fish species" is sustained for many complementary reasons. This paper aims at presenting the aquaculture status of these "new species," research carried out and then problems and perspectives suggested by farming development in these species. En Europe, la pisciculture marine s'est développée en deux vagues successives : celle du saumon atlantique, puis celle du bar et de la daurade. L'élevage de « nouvelles espèces de poissons marins » répond à de nombreux avantages complémentaires. Cet article présente l'état de la production de ces « nouvelles espèces », l'historique des recherches menées, les problèmes et perspectives liés au développement de leur élevage.
