特集:第4回東方ユーラシア国際シンポジウム「ユーラシアの叙事詩と言語」 欧文抄録:P.11 In order to select the bridegroom the oral tradition as heroic epics, myths and tales has different kinds of habits: tasks assigned suitors, test of strength, games of bow and arrows etc.Those kinds of contests or battles in some cased are found everywhere in Eurasian epics. The paper takes some texts as samples of the theme from Finnish <<Karevala", German <<das Nibelungenlied>>, the Evenk heroic epics, the Ainu <<yukar>> and the Brüder Grimm Kinder-und Hausmärchen.As a tentative conclusion the author proposes that the tasks and battles concerned marriage may be compared with the sexual selection in the animal world.
