The paper takes some texts as samples of the theme from Finnish <<Karevala", German <<das Nibelungenlied>>, the Evenk heroic epics, the Ainu <<yukar>> and the Brüder Grimm Kinder-und Hausmärchen.As a tentative conclusion the author proposes that the tasks and battles concerned marriage may be compared with the sexual selection in the animal world. |
