Description
Summary:[ABSTRACT] Takahashi(1942) includes 7 Poronajsk dialect Nivkh traditional song texts which were recorded in the fieldwork in Sakhalin in 1928. Based on those 7 songs, Nivkh verse form has alliterations and rhymes both by assonance and consonance. Some of them have 4 line stanza structure. This form is besically common to Ainu verse. Some Nivkh songs have alliterations and rhymes between the first stanza and the second stanza. This type is not seen in Ainu songs.
