| Summary: | Understanding the eel migration in estuary is a significant ecological, economical and scientific challenge, given the apparently diminishing continental stocks. The use of a model seems to be a worthwhile method of investigation as a complement to work carried out in the field. 'Individual-based' modelization is based on a mechanistic approach which tries to incorporate the underlying mechanisms that govern the system to describe it globally. This type of approach permit to synthetize and verify knowledge about a subject, and to test new hypothesises. / La compréhension de la migration estuarienne des civelles d'anguilles européennes et d'anguilles américaines constitue actuellement un enjeu écologique, économique et scientifique important compte tenu de l'apparente diminution des stocks continentaux. L'approche par modèle semble être une voie d'investigation complémentaire des travaux menés sur le terrain. La modélisation individus-centrée correspond à une approche mécaniste du fonctionnement d'un système. Elle cherche à intégrer les mécanismes sous-jacents gouvernant le système afin de parvenir à le décrire dans sa globalité. Un simulateur basé sur une approche individus-centrés permet de synthétiser et de confronter les connaissances acquises sur un sujet. Il permet de progresser dans la compréhension du phénomène en testant les hypothèses.
