Description
Summary:This is a proposal to encode the Duployan writing system (and a set of shorthand format controls) in the international character encoding standard Unicode. Duployan was published in Unicode Standard version 7.0 in June 2014. Duployan was one of the commonly used shorthands for French in the past, and is used today as a secondary shorthand to write French, English, German, Spanish, and Romanian. An adaptation of Duployan was used for a number of First Nations' languages in British Columbia, Canada, including Chinook Jargon.
