| Summary: | The fishes of the Bay of Douarnenez are regrouped in 3 main classes: fishes spreading all over the world; fishes of the North Atlantic; and fishes of the southern European seas. The principal currents of this region join the tide currents to assure the dissemination of the eggs in the bays and along the coasts. The constitution of the sediments and the particular hydrological conditions of the bay of Douarnenez have largely favoured the acclimatization of flat fishes in this area. 16 species belonging to 4 families (Bothidae, Scophthalmidae, Pleuronectidae, Soleidae) live or transit on a sediment bed chiefly constituted by sands and gravels. During eight years, the author conducted regular observations, bringing important information in the fields of reproduction (sexual cycles, spawning seasons), the growth of immature youngs and reproductors, the distribution of the species in the bay and their spawning and feeding migrations. Artisanal and regulated fishing exploitation, at a small scale, keeps flat fishes populations in balance in the area. Les Poissons de la baie de Douarnenez peuvent être regroupés en 3 catégories: les Poissons répandus dans toutes les mers d'Europe, les Poissons de l'Atlantique Nord et les Poissons des mers méridionales d'Europe. La convergence des principaux courants de cette région et des courants de marée favorisent la dissémination des œufs dans les baies et le long des côtes. Les sédiments et les conditions hydrologiques particulières de la baie de Douarnenez ont largement favorisé l'acclimatation des Poissons plats dans cette zone. 16 espèces appartenant à 4 familles (Bothidae, Scophthalmidae, Pleuronectidae, Soleidae) vivent et transitent sur un substrat principalement formé de sables et de graviers. Des observations, menées pendant 8 années, ont, apporté des éléments importants sur la reproduction(cycles sexuels, saisons de ponte), la croissance des immatures et des reproducteurs, la distribution des espèces dans cette aire de ponte, d'alimentation et de nourricerie.
