Description
Summary:13 fig., 30 tab. The fauna which we studied consists of 12124 fossils but 93.50 % remained not determinate. In a general way Carnivores are rare and it is the family of Hyaenidae that is "more abundant", followed by Ursidae, Canidae and Felidae. Herbivores represent 92.63 % of the determinate fragments. In a general way, Equus dominate then we have Cervus elaphus, Caprinae and Bovinae. The fragmentation of the fauna did not allow a detailed archaeozoological study, which would be nothing else here than a counting of streak (n=4) and negatives (n=9). 15 % of the fauna show interpretable tracks (natural corrosion and especially of animal origin). From a paleoenvironmental point of view all the faunal assemblages indicate a relatively stable environment (with little wetter or little drier moment) convenient to the development of opened landscapes taxa, with also copses and gallery forests along Iskar River. We shall insist on the fact that throughout the sequence of Temnata Dupka which covers approximately the last 160 millenniums, we observe a stability of paleoenvironments and thus climatic conditions, what is confirmed by the paleoenvironmental study of the fauna of the sequence of Kozarnika (Northwest of Bulgaria) which also testifies of a climatic stability during the last million and half years. ...
