Summary: | National audience A technique to determine the sex of the Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar ) from external features is proposed. A total of 214 individuals caught in July and August 1986 in five rivers in Quebec and at a salt water location have been studied. Overall, the sexual dimorphism of the relative length of the upper jaw bone allowed us to sex the fishes with 88% success. |
