Summary: | National audience The Atlantic marshes, extended from the Loire to the Arcachon basin and located on the surface of European eel distribution, took advantage of a natural abundance of this species for a long time , with biomasses going up to 600 kg/ha. A traditional activity of fishing and extensive rearing have been developed there since their origin. Forsaken because of the rarefaction of eels, the author proposes to consider this exploitation in order to limit keeping up on wild stock.
