Description
Summary:Studies the arctic and subarctic transportation problems, including types of equipment maintenance methods and limitations. Arctic transportation presents many problems involving extreme climatic conditions and terrain. When weather is good, the terrain is practically impassable due to tundra, muskeg and swamps. In severe weather, the area is almost beyond human and mechanical endurance, but is trafficable because of its frozen conditions.
