Summary:The Problem Involved: The purpose of this dissertation is to give the results of an investigation to determine what effects education has had and is having upon the life of the Alaskan Eskimo. Definition of Terms Used: In this study "education" is used to designate the influence exerted by representatives of the white race and white civilization upon the Eskimo. The individuals who have consciously or unconsciously engaged in this educative process may be generally classified as teachers, missionaries, doctors, traders, fishermen, trappers, and miners.
