Description
Summary:This 1990 survey contains information obtained in January, February and March 1991 on Canadian household spending during 1990. Data were obtained by asking people in 17 major metropolitan areas across Canada to recall their expenditures for the previous calendar year. In contrast, the coverage of the 1986 survey included both urban and rural areas in the ten provinces of Canada as well as Whitehorse and Yellowknife. For confidentiality reasons, data from Whitehorse and Yellowknife were excluded from the 1986 file. Records from Charlottetown and Summerside have been excluded from both the 1990 files. It is recommended that users obtain a copy of Family Expenditure in Canada, 1990, Catalogue 62-555-XPB, that contains further information on the survey, as well as tabulated results. users should note that detailed data on food expenditures for 1990 were collected in a separate survey see Catalogue No. 62-554-XPB).
