Summary:This is the program from the Centennial production of "The Athabasca Story", by John Havard. The play was first commissioned on September 4, 1961 for the Athabasca Jubilee Celebration. A brief synopsis of the play is given in the program. It states that the play is about the birth of the Athabasca River, and later, the birth of the Town of Athabasca. The play is told by "The Voice of the River". There are eleven scenes in the play, with scene one beginning with "The Nomadic Indians", then moving on to 1799 when David Thompson arrived in the area. The play ends with scene eleven ending with a grand entrance made by the performers from part one of the play. 2 pages
