Summary:A total 259 fleas were collected on 6 small rodents species (Apodemus agrarius, Apodemus flavicollis, Myodes glareolus, Microtus agrestis, Microtus arvalis, Sciurus vulgaris) in Lithuania. Three families of fleas on rodents were identified: Ceratophyllidae, Ctenophthalmidae and Hystrichopsyllidae. A few species was described: Ctenophthalmus agyrtes, Megabothris turbidus, M. walkeri and Hystrichopsylla talpae, Ceratophyllus sciurorum. A total 136 fleas were collected on 1 small rodents (A. flavicollis) in Norway. Two families of fleas on rodents was identified: Ceratophyllidae and Ctenophthalmidae. Infestation fleas on rodents were estimated who was different depending on rodents species and district of capture. The overall prevalence of infestation with fleas was the biggest 64% in Kintai and the smallest 43% in Kaunas. The biggest prevalence of infestation with fleas was 78% for M. agrestis and the smallest 48% for A. flavicollis. The overall intensity of infestation with fleas was the biggest on rodents in Muize and Prienai (four fleas in one rodent). The overall prevalence of infestation with fleas was the biggest 62% in Lista and the smallest 25% in Hinebbu. The prevalence of infestation with fleas was 49% for A. flavicollis in Norway (Jomfruland, Hinebbu, Lista). The overall intensity of infestation with fleas was the biggest on rodents in Lista (threer fleas in one rodent). Infection Borrelia and Anaplasma on fleas were investigated. No fleas were found to be infected with B. burgdorferi s. l. Anaplasma were detected in 128 (54%) fleas. Most Anaplasma infected fleas found in Muize – 49 (38,3%). A total 64 (50%) fleas were C. agyrtes species from all fleas infected by Anaplasma pathogen.
