Summary: | Arctic Marine and Aviation Transportation Infrastructure Initiative is a project co ö led by the United States and Iceland, under the guidance of the Arctic Council´s Sustainable Development Working Group. The principal investigator is the Institute of the North, based in Anchorage, Alaska. The Project aims to recognize the inter-modal nature of transportation challenges in the Arctic and increasingly busy circumpolar North. The Initiative seeks to address the infrastructure deficit ö a lack of ports and airports. This is done through the database that could be accessed through the Project´s website. |
