Summary: | Implementation of the CBMP-Marine Plan began in late 2011, and this report describes the progress that has been made during the first year of implementation (2012). The governance structures were established: a Marine Steering Group that provides overall direction, and management; and five new Expert Networks (Sea-ice Biota, Plankton, Benthos, Marine Fish and Marine Mammals) that are concerned with determining marine biodiversity baselines, detecting changes and trends, and discerning the underlying reasons for such changes. |
