Some of the traditional use of wetlands has been modified because of changes in land area access. Wetlands are important for both the reindeer and humans and an important factor for reindeer herding strategies. The value of wetlands is defined with a holistic approach where the wetlands' characteristics, connectivity, surrounding area and external factors, as weather conditions, determine the value and most strategic and sustainable use of the wetland.
