Summary:3 Present a historical account of Chilean state-making at the intersection between agricultural, commerce and health policies between 1900 and the present. Host a workshop to discuss findings in a Latin American comparative context with international experts from European (University of Geneva), US (University of Texas at Austin) and Chilean (Universidad de Los Lagos) universities (international cooperation 2). Discussion will be shared with extended community in an outreach activity and research results presented at an international academic conference and prepared for publication to a peer-reviewed journal. TOTAL Research findings published in journal Economia y Gobierno (Scopus) in December 2019 and as chapter in edited book (Palgrave) 2019. International cooperation event 2 was cancelled given sanitary conditions and funds used to finance research assistance, adaptation of home office during quarantine and other small expenses. 4 Create diagnostic maps of food environment in Chile. These will provide the contextualization for ethnographic explorations of sub-national political obstacles to healthy food environments. Results and maps will be shared at a national and/or international conference, in local policy forums and media, and serve as the seed for the development of policy recommendations and future research projects. TOTAL With the approval of Fondecyt, this goal was adapted. Ethnographic observations were not feasible given covid19 restrictions on movement and sanitary considerations that discourage face-to-face interactions. Maps of food environments were expanded to go beyond diagnostic tools to select cases to combine data on food supply, socioeconomic measurements and health outcomes.
