Summary: | This file comprises three main records compiled for publication in the following: van Ommen, T. D. and V. Morgan (2010). Snowfall increase in coastal East Antarctica linked with southwest Western Australian drought, Nature Geoscience, Advance Online Publication, doi:10.1038/NGEO761 The records are: 1 - a primary Law Dome Accumulation series covering AD1248-2005 2 - a alternate lower fidelity Law Dome Accumulation series over the same time-span 3 - a derived meteorological data set - the "AZ3 Index", which is an Australian Sector Zonal Wave 3 index computed from NCEP Reanalysis data The Law Dome accumulation series are constructed from data from segments of 6 individual cores (and a pit) as follows: The data here are best values a the time of publication. Further coring will result in extension of the series beyond the present 2005 cutoff date, and may also lead to small changes in pre-2006 accumulation values as overlapping core segments provide for more robust estimates.
