Provisional magnetic data recorded at Macquarie (MCQ) and Davis (DVS) MAGDAS (MAGnetic Data Acquisition System) stations

SERC, Kyushu University, have deployed MAGDAS magnetometers at 57 stations along the 210- and 96-degree magnetic meridians (MM) and the magnetic Dip equator, and three FM-CW radars along the 210o MM during the Years 2005 through 2011. Description
Summary:SERC, Kyushu University, have deployed MAGDAS magnetometers at 57 stations along the 210- and 96-degree magnetic meridians (MM) and the magnetic Dip equator, and three FM-CW radars along the 210o MM during the Years 2005 through 2011. The scientific objective of the MAGDAS Project is to understand the Sun-Earth couplings from the solar surface to the Earth's lithosphere for study on space weather and space climate. Data from AAD stations at Davis (in Antarctica) and at Macquarie Island are very important for this project. Hence, we wish to continue magnetic observation at these two stations. The zip-compressed file contains the magnetic data records of Macquarie and Davis stations from April 2013 to December 2017. The data records include 4 magnetic field elements: H (magnetic northward component), D (magnetic eastward component), Z (vertical component) and F (total field). Data currently run from 2007-2018 (Davis), and 2006-2015 (Macquarie Island). Filename format: The following are used in format of the filename. STN= 3-letter MAGDAS station code YYYY= four-digit year MM= two-digit month DD=two-digit day t= type of data (p-provisional) int= data interval (min-minute, sec-second) 1. The filename format for one-minute mean data is STNYYYYMMDDtint.int . Example: DVS20131231pmin.min 2. The filename format for second data is STNYYYYMMDDtint.int Example: DVS20131231psec.sec Data Format: Each data file is written in the IAGA2002 (ASCII) format. Please refer to the following web page for the data format. http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/IAGA/vdat/IAGA2002/iaga2002format.html
