McGregor Regional Climate Model simulation dataset for the Australasian region for the years 1971-2000. Created with the CSIRO CCAM (Cubic Conformal Amostpheric Model 805) RCM (Regional Climate Model) by dynamically downscaling the NCEP reanalysis Climate Model output to 60 km resolution over a target area centered over Australia. 30 years of NCEP output was used as the host model (nested in NCEP), with greenhouse emissions corresponding to 1971-2000. Daily and Monthly Atmospheric variables are available between Lat:-60N 0N(.5 deg res) & Lon:105E 165E(.5 deg res), at 5 levels (1000, 850, 700, 500, 300 hPa), 60Km resolution(C48 grid) & 18 vertical levels. There are 360 Daily files totalling 173.0 GB, 360 Monthly_mean files totalling 3.79 GB and 360 Raw cubic conformal model output files totaling 128.0 GB with all being in netcdf format. This dataset has been created as part of a model evaluation experiment involving CCAM to examine the dynamic downscaling performance when nested in different Global climate models. Available for internal use and analysis by CSIRO staff on the HPSC cherax.
