Description
Summary:This dataset was originally collated in early 1998 by Martin Betts, Policy Branch, Antarctic Division. Data with q_info=546 representing fauna included consultation with biologists Eric Woehler, Roger Kirkwood and David Slip. Data with q_info=552 representing management zones/aeronatical data included consultation with the Division's Environment Committee. Usually mapped to a Universal Transverse Mercator projection, Zone 43. This layer is stored as two datasets (point and polygon)in the Geographical Information System (GIS). Points represent landing areas, mammal, flying bird and penguin data. Polygons represent the horizontal flight limits of helicopters and areas set aside for specific management purposes.
