Description
Summary:Ecosystem typologies are a mechanism for describing ecosystems on the basis of their physical an biological characteristics. Here we provide a first draft of ecosystem typologies for terrestrial Antarctica. The physical parameters included elevation, slope, solar radiation and rugosity; climate parameters included temperature (including degree days), precipitation, cloud cover and wind; biological inputs included occurrence records and species distribution models (from AAS_4296). Attached to this metadata record is a copy of the functional typology map (in image form).
