Description
Summary:Forcing data from the Australian Community Ocean Model (AusCOM), based on the GFDL MOM4p0d and Los Alamos CICE 3.14 codes. The AusCOM is an initiative by the Australian climate sciences community (including government and academic research laboratories) towards a unified coupled ocean-seaice model for climate applications. Ocean Only simulations: The model resolution is a nominal 1 degree in the horizontal with latitudinal refinement to 1/3 degree in the tropics and latitudinal refinement in the Southern Ocean (up to 60S) to counteract the convergence of meridians. Initialised with the PHC dataset (Steele et al 2001) and surface forcing is from the NCEP R2 dataset.
