Description
Summary:Impact of changes in southern hemisphere westerlies on Southern Ocean CO2 uptake as simulated in an eddy-permitting ocean, sea-ice, carbon cycle model. A series of wind perturbation experiments is performed and the impact on anthropogenic and natural CO2 fluxes is investigated. Changes in DIC are also studied. Methodology Eddy-permitting ocean, sea-ice, carbon cycle model forced by different wind forcings, including the core 2 IAF, and core 2 NYF, as well as 3 perturbation experiments with abrupt changes in SH westerly strength and positiion.
