Description
Summary:The Upper Atmosphere Physics Monitoring (UAPM) data consist of the magnetic variation data from the fluxgate magnetometer at Syowa Station, and other items at West Ongul island: CNA data from the riometer; ULF magnetic pulsation data from the induction magnetometer; and the natural electromagnetic wave emission data in the ELF/VLF band from the ELF/VLF receiver. A digital recording system for the UAPM data was installed by JARE-22 in 1981. The recording system has been changed from the initial mini-computer system to a more compact system. At present, a PC-based Linux OS system, called as ATLAS, is running. Data stored in HD are copied to MO every month. 10 and 1 second data are transferred to NIPR every 1 hour and 1 day, respectively, via Intelsat satellite network.
