Description
Summary:This dataset is a record of the data in the ANARE Research Notes 78: Temperature-density, temperature-conductivity and conductivity-density relationships for marine-derived saline lake waters. Authors: John A.E. Gibson, John M. Ferris and Harry R. Burton. Abstract per ANARE 78: Equations, determined using water samples from marine-derived saline lakes in Vestfold Hills, Antarctica, relating sigma T [=(density-1000) kg/m^3 at temperature between -15 degrees C and 40 degrees C to sigma 20, electrical conductivity at temperatures from -15 degrees C to 20 degrees C to conductivity at 0 degrees C, and sigma 20 to electrical conductivity at 0 degrees C are given. These relationships allow in situ sigma T to be calculated from in situ electrical conductivity and temperature data. Fields in this data set are: Sample Source (ie Lake Name and Depth) sigma 20 and quadratic coefficients Temperature Comparison of sigma T using temperature-density relationships Comparison of conductivities calculated
