Description
Summary:The Australian Antarctic Division's Station Infrastructure Project 5135 required terrestrial survey data at Davis for two designated areas as described below. 1 An area surrounding the wharf. Natural surface levels were collected at a 5 metre grid spacing and all services that were joined or contained within the area were surveyed. The locations of five test pits were also surveyed. 2 A potential container laydown area, approximately 150 metres by 380 metres, to the north-east of the Meteorology and Science buildings. Natural surface levels were collected at a 10 metre grid spacing. Also surveyed were the electrical, optic fibre and telecommunication lines, a mast and guy wires and meteorology instruments. The surveying was done by LCPL Brad Smart and LCPL Mathew Van Rees Hoets of the Australian Defence Force on 31 January 2019 and 7 February 2019. The data will be used in conjunction with hydrographic survey data collected in early 2019 by the Australian Hydrographic Service. The final survey data is in 12da and dwg formats. Raw data is included. Details about the survey are given in a survey report.
