Description
Summary:This is a collection of iceberg surface areas digitized by hand from a range of satellite images. The data may be useful for classifying ice shelf behaviour. Data to be made available accompanying manuscript publication (2019-20). Icebergs were manually digitized by drawing around the visible edge using GIS software. The resulting polygon was used to calculate a surface area. Within each image only icebergs over a certain size were selected (size dependent on image resolution) and only icebergs that could be easily distinguished from sea ice floes were used.
