Note that 1min average data is provided as a special request, however it is unedited and has data quality implications. For general use, the 5min average data (os150nb.nc) should be used. Credit ADCP data processed by Francis Chui (CSIRO O&A, MNF Data Acquisition and Processing group). This record describes the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) data collected from the Marine National Facility RV Investigator voyage IN2018_V08, titled: "The Balleny mantle plume: key role in Tasmania-Antarctic breakup?" The voyage took place from Hobart (TAS) to Hobart between December 27, 2018 and January 10, 2019. Data was collected during in2018_v08 for the entire voyage. Acquisition of data was through UHDAS and this data was post-processed in CODAS. Data was collected with the RDI Ocean Surveyor 75kHz and 150kHz ADCP, which were run in narrow band mode with 16m and 8m bins respectively. Bottom tracking was used while on leaving the Tasman Peninsula while on the continental shelf and was turned off for the remainder of the voyage after leaving the shelf. Internal triggering was used as the focus of this voyage was to collect current data and external triggering was found to be unstable on previous voyages. Port drop keel was flush with gondola for the majority of the voyage and was at 2m for the duration data was being acquired. See the voyage computing and instrumentation report for more details regarding data acquisition. This dataset was processed and then archived within the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere (O&A) Information and Data Centre (IDC) in Hobart.
