Description
Summary:Spreadsheets listing waypoints of the A0 and GC traverse lines south of Casey in the late 1970s and early 1980s were compiled by Steve Macaulay of the Australian Antarctic Division's Antarctic Modernisation Taskforce. Included in the spreadsheets are for each waypoint its designation and, where available, its latitude, longitude and elevation. There are also some notes about travelling conditions. Some additional metadata is included with the data. The information was sourced from the following reports: ANARE Glaciology Traverse Report, Casey 1978 by T. Hamley, Glaciologist, Antarctic Division; 1981 Casey Traverse Operations Report by Martin Hendy; Antarctic Survey Report 1978 Winter (10 January 1978 to 20 February 1979), Casey by Peter Quinn; Survey Report, Casey Antarctica 1981 by G.W. Petschack, Wintering Surveyor for the Division of National Mapping; Survey Report, Casey Antarctica 1984 by James Clarke, Wintering Technical Officer for the Division of National Mapping. The reports have been scanned and the resulting digital files are available to Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) staff from the AAD records management system.
