According to the unrecorded explanation, the song was originally composed in honor of Frank Italio's father, Kagwantan-yAdi, i.e. son of the Kagwantan, but the first verse was changed to make it a love song for Teqwedi's children, of whom Minnie herself is one." Frank Italio also identified as "CAnkukedi (or dakAstina) 'Thunderbird Clan.')"
