Description
Summary:The ENECON project was set up as a macro-regional project. The transnational project group (TPG) has included the ESPON Contact Points (ECPs) of all the Baltic and Nordic countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway (Lead Partner) and Sweden. The project addresses challenges and opportunities facing territorial development and spatial planning policies and practices, particular to the large territory of the northern part of Europe. By actively facilitating the use and capitalization of ESPON-evidence the overall aim has been to contribute to making clear the significance of the European perspective on territorial development and cohesion, and the need for a transnational cooperation approach to territorial analysis, policies and planning.
