Summary:The Academic Jashar Rexhepagiq, one of the most distinguished personalities of the Albanian pedagogical thought, well known even beyond the Albanian territories for his activity full of values in the theoretical and applicative aspect of education, is regarded as the professor of professors of Pedagogy and a mass of teachers.After 9 years, he brought again to the reader a new completed version of the book that is a masterpiece, “Sami Frashëri and the Pedagogy of the National Renaissance” edited by the Academy of Sciences of Kosova, part of the series of special editions. Sami Frashëri, the great thinker, knower in depth of the philosophical and pedagogical thinking of the time both in East and in West, the organizer and ideologist of the organisms of our National Renaissance, founded in a big center as Istanbul is, “The Society of Istanbul”, or “the “Society of printing Albanian letters”, 1979. Later, he founded national, educational and literary societies in Bucharest, Sofia, Italy etc, which, based on a clearly defined platform, published books and created organs of press, opened schools of a modern shape, without which, no progress could be done in the awakening of the national awareness or in the great events and developments until to the declaration of Independence.The Academic Jashar Rexhepagiq, dealing for more than 30 years in a row with researches on this period, has succeeded in bringing already a very worthy monography on the pedagogical thinking of our Renaissance and Sami Frashëri, as its ideologist. Proceeding from the main objective of the work, in evaluating his pedagogical ideas he refers to Sami Frashëri’s 15 most important works, starting with “Shqipëria, ç’ka qenë, ç’ësht dhe ç’do të bëhet” (Albania, what was it, what is it and what will it become” Bucharest, 1899; continuing with “Abetare e Gjuhës shqip” (Primer of Albanian), Bucharest 1866, and so on.The third part of the work is dedicated to “The educational activity and pedagogical thought of Sami Frashëri”.
