Summary:This dataset consists of historical catches for the Bering Sea groundfish fisheries from the Alaska Fisheries Information Network (AKFIN), NOAA/NMFS Alaska Regional Office, North Pacific Groundfish and Halibut Observer Program, and other sources were organized by species (walleye pollock, Pacific cod, other groundfish), vessel class (catcher processors, and catcher vessels), and gear type (trawl, hook and line, pot). This dataset includes Prohibited Species Catch of Pacific herring and chum salmon in the directed groundfish fisheries. It also includes directed catch of Pacific herring in the Bering Sea Aleutian Islands area. Each series in this dataset was downscaled to a spatial grid for the Bering Sea. This dataset contains confidential data that are subject to strict controls. Access to this dataset is restricted.
