Description
Summary:Moored temperature, salinity and pressure data from one location in the deep (is greater than 2000 m) Canada Basin. Data were collected as an extension of the Beaufort Gyre Observing System (BGOS, http://www.whoi.edu/beaufortgyre/) on mooring D. These and shallower measurements on the same mooring are available also at the BGOS website. The array of instruments at fixed depths on the mooring consisted of: 12 temperature sensors (TR-1050 RBR Ltd, Matlab file variables t1x [2489 m], t2x [2499 m], t3x [2509 m], t4x [2519 m], t5x [2529 m], t6x [2539 m], t7x [2559 m], t8x [2569 m], t9x [2579 m], t10x [2589 m], t11x [2599 m], t12x [2639 m]), two temperature, conductivity and pressure recorders (XR-420CTD RBR Ltd, Matlab file variables txr1, pxr1, sxr1 [temperature, pressure, salinity at 2549 m], txr2, pxr2, sxr2 [temperature, pressure, salinity at 2664 m]), one temperature, conductivity recorder (XR-420CT RBR Ltd, Matlab file variables txr, sxr [temperature, salinity at 2789 m]) and a temperature, conductivity recorder (Sea-Bird SBE37, Matlab file variables tsbe, ssbe [temperature and salinity at 2439 m]). Other variables in the Matlab file are vectors containing Matlab serial date numbers corresponding to the temperature, pressure, salinity time series. tvec for the TR-1050 instruments, tvecxr for all XR-420 instruments, tvecsbe for the SBE37 time series. No post-cruise calibration was possible since all instruments were re-deployed in August 2008. Calibrations were made using values from a calibrated conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) profile taken upon deployment at the known depths of the moored instruments.
